wooooork

Time flies by when you are actually rushing things up. I did that today. I’ve updated my competition report, my MMS rates comparison, my minutes of meeting, my brandbook, the bulk SMS, powerpoint presentation for project butler… yes, all of those I did in one day. In one Friday. It was an absolutely looooong Friday for me. And I’m still in the office waiting for an email to arrive to finally finish he post evaluation for project matrix 2. yeah! I’m speaking my own language now.

Wi-5 is going out tonight. And I’m not joining them. Not tonight. I badly wanted to stress out with them, but I made plan yesterday. I’m staying home to sleep because tomorrow, I need the same amount of energy I used today. I need to recharge!

I’m stressed out.

takas lang to!

June 5, 2006

“There will be good days and there will be bad days. I hope the good days will outnumber the bad days.”

I kept these words in mind. Yes, there will be bad days, and it is up to me to make a bad day end up a good one.

Today is my 10th day as an official JGSummit employee and my third day as a SunCellular employee. It was just days ago when the MT Batch  5 first met, days ago when we were trying so hard o transition from work to school, from childhood to professionalism. (haha!). it was days ago when we were trembling knowing that the first rotation assignments were totally released.

And here I am, spending my second of the six times thirty days with Sun Cellular. Yes, I am assigned to Sun Cellular Prepaid Usage and Loyalty – Marketing Department. So far, so good.

I’ve been busy for hours and idle for hours on the same day. I’ve been introduces to the top managers and been given warnings on the same day also. I’ve been up, I’ve been down.

This is still the beginning and there is much to expect..

My first booboo…

I am assisting my immediate supervisors with the new service promotions. I am tasked to coordinate with the product development regarding redundancies (handsetwise and servicewise). I am tasked to communicate with Sir Howard (from Product Development), who’s on his way for a two-hour meeting the time I approached him. I had to wait for two hours to finally talk with him. He then asked me to communicate via the email.

Having no access to the net, I asked one of my IS for an access. I used his computer and email address to send the email to Sir Howard. I asked Rico (Batch 3) for Sir Howard’s surname. It was GO. Yes, GO, a family member of the company and conglomerate owners. I was instantly intimidated and fixed my email to sound formal and finally sent it.

I felt pride, knowing I sent something excellent to a GO.

I thanked my IS for sharing his PC with me.

I suddenly heard chuckles behind me (my IS is seated behind me). Then he said, “ Cel, it’s Ticzon ha? Not GO”

Not GO?!?!?!?!?!?!

My ghash! I sent my email to the wrong person. I had no way to retrieve it.

The next day, I saw replies on my email. Mr. GO forwarded the meail to Mr. TICZON and naka-CC ako!!!

My ghash! It was a bad feeling really.

It was something people will remember me for. Who knows? They might be talking about me behind me! Hahaha!

Lesson learned: don’t settle for a single opinion. Settle for second ones.

sunny day after the storm

the sun finally remembered to settle in front of the clouds!

yep, the storm is over. manila might have only felt the mild winds and light showers but believe me, the storm raged in the southern part of the country leaving less than 50 people dead and cancelling plane flights and ship travels.

it's only may, and the third storm for the years has come.

it seems a bit early for the storms to arrive, but this year is one of the la nina years. that means, we are to expect a real splash for the rainy season. uh-oh. floods and traffic comes to mind....

it's only may and the third storm has been recorded.

when i was younger, my grandmother used to let me play under the may rain. her reason? the may rain is healthy. i haven't asked for a more scientific reason nor did i research for the nutrients given by the may rain. i just willingly let my body absorb the rain for hours... that made me happy then.

but as i grew not-so-old, i realized that the may storm in never healthy at all. i do not care less, but i just don't want to risk myself getting sick from rain.

gmail

i finally have a gmail account!!!

after ten thousand years of bugging a million people to send me a single invite, at long last, somebody with a gracious heart decided to give me one! hi karla! :D hahaha

We were at Cheryl's last night for a bit of catching up on each other's lives. Armed with fried wantons and fishcrackers and with videoke (of course!), we weren't able to achieve the goal of our overnight until past midnight, when somebody (who turned out to be cheryl's brother) rammed on the gate to keep us quiet from singing (or screaming??).

Still, we were able to update each other and disillusioning me from my near work life.

hahaha

BTW, i'm logging off now. i need to eat lunch and rush to school for a meeting.

PS. the sunflowers are unpretty today. thanks to the rain.

march 11

march 11 was one of the longest days of my life. it was also one of those unpredictable days. it was a day of mixed emotions even.

i badly wanted to get into details. but i'll try to keep the details that are not meant to be spilled

i was asleep almost the whole day of march 10 and that kept me awake until wee hours of the night and made me almost late for my 8am appointment with trix.

march 11 is the advanced registration date for the IE freshmen and i need to be there because trix asked me so. no questions asked. i just need to attend. and there i was, dressed in blue, as trix suggested and with no other questions in mind.

and there we were, performing the job we need to do.

it was worth it. but there are just things that still make my eyebrows go up. hay org matters talaga.

the advanced registration was done by lunch. it was tiring, satisfying and maddenning. hahaha. kasi naman e

we decided to eat lunch and go to vinzons for the tambay. we stayed there for a few hours, talking about anything under the sun. basta, we talked about whatever somes to mind na worth talking about.

then i decided to go to SM. wala lang, SM lang.

being an impulsive buyer, i was able to buy office things at national an dbuy an office bag. then ayen met me and we waited for karla.

we met for dinner lang. and suddenly decided to bring karla for an ambush makeover sa salon sana, but all the stores were already closed, kasi naman she arrived at 8pm.

no more ambush makeover.

we changed venue na lang and stayed outside (Bo's Coffee Experience) and made the usual tambay, the "sit down and talk". hahaha.

we're supposed to go home already, pero it was still raining. e wala kaming payong.

we stil went home. i arrived home soaked. soaked talaga, read it: SOAKED. translation: basang-basa

at napagalitan pa ako for being inconsiderate. nice!

happy rainy day!

the sky has finally given up!

yeah! i think the sky got tired of holding on to the tiny water vapors that kept lingering in the atmosphere. and i really think it is finally time for it to give it all up!

yeba!

HAPPY RAINY DAY TO ALL!!!

it's cool in here. and i am happy about it.

no more sweat. no more. no more.

wahahaha

apartment

2 weekends to go...

i'm keeping myself busy with

1. counting how many days left before i actually embrace the world of zero vacation

2. worrying myself on finding a new place to move in. i want something affordable but decent place naman.

3. sleeping or going out and exposing myself to the wrath of the sun

4. planning to go swimming (that never materialized after my la union and cavite swimming)

i have kwento!!!!!!!!!!

i did something exciting this summer vacation. here's the kwento.

may 12, 2006

i fetched towi (my youngest sister) from tita's house and brought her to dap tagaytay, where mama is curently checked in for a week-long seminar culminating on the same date when i'm bringing towi there.

but before actually depositing (yes, my mama's term) towi to mama, i decided to bring towi to a retaurant and let her get a glance of the taal volcano.

i felt happy hearing about her admirations of the scenery. but there' s more i want to do than look at the view (which i've seen countless times already)

may 13,2006

i slept a karla's place. she wasn't home, so there i was occupying her bed and making myslef feel at home. she arrives saturday morning, barging in and destroying my tranquility.

my tranquility was changed to excitement. because we're crossing taal lake.

nobody knew where we were except for the father of karen. we kept it a secret to avoid being scolded before actually reaching the foot of the volcano.

haha

we took a jeepney ride that travels from tagaytay down to talisay, batangas

from talisay, we took a boatride that crosses the lake to the foot of the volcano in taal, batangas

from the foot of the volcano, we trekked until we reached to mouth of the volcano.

it was a sight (i need to post the pictures soon)

inside the crater was boiling water and steam. inside the crater is a hidden scenery that pays off the sweat you get from trekking 5kilometers. inside the crater is another dream realized.

we travelled down by horse. we were tired from walking and besides riding a horse is another ear conquered. haha

and crossed the lake again.

and rode the jeepney back to tagaytay.

we're alive and tired.

ramblings

this was written two meeks ago...

Random ramblings…

Three weeks left to bum around and I haven’t done a single productive bum work.

Soon, I’ll be swallowing the fact that there is no vacation in this world. Three weeks to go. I still haven’t had a “good” vacation.

Three weeks… and it really makes me feel weak in the knees to foresee 10 and a half hours of “work?!” everyday. Hahaha…

Three weeks and all I have done was to go home in LA for the Holy Week, visit my relatives and friends, do some beach activities, come back in manila, visit CIEM, graduate, process my graduation and employment papers, and accompany my sister for her jobhunting. Sounds productive???!!?!?!

i need some vacation planning right now…

my immediate plan includes fetching towi at tita’splace on Thursday morning and bring her to UP, a picnic with alyansa on Thursday afternoon (hi mike lo!), a trip to tagaytay with towi and karla, sightseeing at tagaytay (hi towi!) and meeting up with mama at DAP tagaytay… (grrr… so much for my sentence construction. Ignore parallelism… hi ma’am depalco!)

I’m still thinking of staying in tagaytay until may1…

Or

Going to dagupan for the bangus festival!!! (yumyum!!!)

The only certain thing is I won’t be staying in the boarding house for the long weekend.

Aside from getting a good vacation, my to-do list includes:

  1. buy office clothes, office bag

  2. go to the office to surrender my NBI clearance (yey! I’m cleared after verifying my HIT!)

  3. finish Flowers in the Attic, Angles and Demons, Dark Half and Deception Point

  4. practice waking up at 6am and keeping myself wide awake until 9pm. (ggodbye 14hrs of daily sleep!)

I’m tired. I need food.

Later!
